If a motor vehicle has a mechanical or component failure and is covered under an vehicle extended warranty, then the motor vehicle part is either repaired or replaced, depending on the type of coverage that has been contracted for or by the consumer.
Umbrella Warranty Ltd. is a Canadian Corporation that markets an easily understood and conveniently obtained vehicle mechanical breakdown coverage to consumers. The Program is provided by Aviva Warranty Services Inc., a member of the Aviva Canada group of companies.
In consideration of the payment of fee specified and in reliance upon the statements in the application made as part of this coverage, Aviva Warranty Services Inc., agrees to reimburse you for necessary and reasonable costs to repair or replace a component with one of like kind and quality due to a breakdown. This coverage is between You and Aviva Warranty Services Inc., which covers all listed components under the package You have purchased, as shown in the Coverage Summary Page for Your Described Vehicle.

THE MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCESS
Inspection Center means a facility that is licensed and qualified to inspect and determine if the described vehicle’s components are fully functional and in good working order.
- Inspections are only required on vehicles that are more than 2 years old from the manufacturers in-service date/purchased date new, or when mileage exceeds 50,000 kilometers – whichever comes first.
- An inspection is required if the owner is not the original owner.
- The vehicle must go through an approved inspection center prior to coverage being issued to ensure and provide written proof to Aviva Warranty Service Inc. that all components are in place and in proper working order on the coverage effective date and that they are properly maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
- You retain copies of all receipts as proof of maintenance performed including oil changes, lubrication, etc, which will be required in the event you file a claim.
